Environment North Carolina Staff
Ms. Ouzts spearheads legislative strategy, grassroots organizing, research and public education for Environment North Carolina. She’s co-authored reports on myriad topics, from the state’s solar energy potential to its loss of open space. She’s appeared on television and in newspapers, at the NC General Assembly, in Congress, and before numerous citizens’ groups statewide to speak out against the threats to the state’s environment.
A former chair of the NC Conservation Network Board of Directors, Ms. Ouzts is a steering committee member of the Land for Tomorrow coalition, the statewide effort to create a permanent, dedicated source of funding for protecting forests and farmlands of the state.
A graduate of the NC School of Science and Math and Yale University, Ms. Ouzts began her career in 1997 with the Public Interest Network, the family of organizations upon which Environment North Carolina draws its 40-year track record of success in standing up for the environment.
