What's New

Members of the state's Legislative Commission on Global Climate Change are evaluating  56 policies that could mitigate global warming's impacts and cut global warming pollution.

Environment North Carolina is calling on the Commission to recommend a 15% cut in global warming pollution by 2020 and an 80% cut by 2050 in its final recommendations to the General Assembly, due in April 2008.

We're also calling on the General Assembly to enact a Clean Cars Standard, which could cut global warming pollution from new cars in North Carolina by as much as 30 percent.
