Stop Global Warming

Scientists predict that global warming will cause sea levels to rise by as much as three feet before the century’s end, causing our coastline as we know it to disappear. Warmer seas will produce more severe tropical storms and hurricanes—causing damage to the Outer Banks and coastal towns and more floods throughout the state.

Damage to our coast is just the tip of the iceberg—our cities could get smoggier, while the ski-industry and Christmas Tree farms in the mountains will decline as the planet warms.

The good news is that if we act now and act decisively we can stop global warming and protect our children and future generations.  That's why Environment North Carolina is asking state and federal leaders to support global warming solutions.
