Smog, soot, and toxic pollution threatens the health of North
Carolinians. Half of the state's residents live in areas that don't
meet basic federal health standards for smog pollution. 96 of the
state's 100 counties exceed federal cancer-risk benchmarks. That’s why Environment North Carolina is working
to clean up the two largest sources of pollution: power plants and automobiles.
